Our Story

Comfort that draws one back to home. It’s that simple.

We are your neighbourhood bakery, serving up handcrafted 100% sourdough bakes in small batches (yes, our croissant/viennoiserie range are free from commercial yeast too), moreish sammies from our humble kitchen and a cuppa solid joe since Jan 2020 (uh huh, we’re a covid-baby).

Baker’s Bench refers to the baker’s workbench. Seemingly humble, it plays an integral part in the baking process – it’s where the dough is weighed and shaped. More importantly, it is also where human bonds are forged. Bakers crowding around the bench is a common sight; and plenty of conversations (deep, trivial, gossipy), emotions and feelings are shared around this table.

At BBB, we emphasise on quality bakes and flavours, while not forgetting simplicity and comfort. The bread flours we use are ethically-sourced, sustainable and chemical-free; while at times we mill some flours ourselves with our trusty Mockmill ®.

The brainchild behind BBB is a pair of kindred spirits, both bonded by this simple and clear vision: bake from the heart and serve with a heart.

Our Head Baker Joey worked at Apiece Bakery in Tasmania and co-founder Vera lived in London for several years before enrolling into Le Cordon Bleu London (out of interest!). They spent great amounts of their time eating their weight in bread and bakes. They both yearned to bring a piece of their experience back to Singapore and share with anyone walks through BBB’s door. Baker’s Bench also aims to provide an outlet for aspiring and talented bakers to create fearlessly.

A simple, no-frills bakery that feels like home. One that anyone can just pop-in, grab their usuals, try some specials, whilst catching up with a familiar face (or two!) behind the counter or at the next table. It’s these little things that bring us humans closer together.

To the families with kids in tow, couples, friends and (han)-solos, thank you for coming through our wooden door and joining our journey.
